As Head of Content, you will hold a leadership role that is responsible for interviewee and customer engagement, brand consistency, production quality and customer experience. You will be responsible for overseeing all items related to the editorial production of our annual business reports (approximately 10 per year – see more at www.capitalanalyticsassociates.com) and coordinating and producing the content for our conferences (approximately 10 per year – see our recap videos on our website). Additional duties include helping support online content and social media outreach.
The Head of Content directly supervises a current team of up to 6 people, including full-time Content Managers and Production Liaisons, as well as a current pool of up to 10 freelance writers and copy editors.

Objectives and Responsibilities of the Head of ContentLeadership: The primary role of the Head of Content is the development and optimization of the content department. In this role, s/he ensures that all the business’s narratives and message are in support of the content strategies and editorial decisions that s/he formulates along with the CEO, Regional Sales Directors and key stakeholders. S/he oversees the production of the company’s primary content products, as well as the development and management of the business’s brand standards and content style guides.
In this capacity, the Head of Content will lead a team of content staff (full-time and freelance) to design, manage and deliver first-class business journalism content, including published business reports (of up to 200 pages), online articles (including blog posts), videos, and infographics.
S/he will also chair advisory board meetings and serve as a key public-facing representative for the company.
Strategy and Analytics: The Head of Content will be responsible for developing an integrated content strategy that includes establishing systems for channel selection and focus, editorial governance, and content-related KPIs.
Editorial/Research: The Head of Content will lead the content team in identifying topics and themes for the company’s products, based on primary source (interviews, questionnaires and surveys) and secondary source (desktop research) data collection.
PR and Marketing: The Head of Content is responsible for providing support to the Public Relations and Product Marketing Departments, including reviewing direct mail, interviews, collateral, speeches, recorded messages, and newsletters for brand consistency and accuracy.
The Head of Content will also support the company’s social media channels in regard to content, promotion, consumer engagement, customer service, performance management, and listings.
Other Duties: The Head of Content will also perform other duties as are necessary for the effective execution of his duties and other duties as directed by the CEO.
Required Qualifications of the Head of ContentLeadership: The Head of Content must have demonstrable experience in holding a leadership position, including the ability to manage key stakeholders, speak on behalf of the company, lead and motivate teams, understand cross-departmental collaboration and drive strategic planning processes.
Experience: A suitable candidate will have had a minimum of 7-10 years experience working in a management position in the field of communications or consulting.
Team Management: The Head of Content must have proven experience in building and managing a team. The Head of Content must be an individual who has additionally had vast experience and success driving and managing social media strategies for a business in a highly competitive environment.
Project Management: The Head of Content should have experience executing multiple client-facing projects, including prioritizing deadlines, managing across teams and ensuring quality deliverables.
Communication: The candidate for this position must demonstrate exceptional communication skills, both in written and verbal form, for both internal and external audiences. This role includes public speaking duties.
Technological Savvy: The Head of Content should have a high degree of technological fluency with key production software (InDesign, Microsoft Office, WordPress), project management tools (G-Suite, Slack), CRMs (SalesForce, Insightly) and social media platforms (LinkedIn, Twitter, Facebook).
Analytical Skills: A suitable candidate will have strong analytical skills, ideally with experience in business and economic content. S/he will be responsible for staying abreast of market related issues and drive content accurately according to current events and market trends.
Interpersonal Skills: The Head of Content must be able to lead and motivate a team of both full-time and freelance personnel, and possess the ability to collaborate across multiple departments and remote offices. The Head of Content must also demonstrate tact and diplomacy when interacting with external audiences, and be able to cultivate new relationships with key stakeholders.
Proven work experience as a Content Manager or similar
Strong managerial, leadership and mentor skills
Hands on experience with MS Office, WordPress, Google Drive, InDesign and CRM programs like Sales Force or Insightly
Knowledge of SEO and web traffic metrics
Strong knowledge of social media
Excellent writing skills in English
Attention to detail
Good organizational and time-management skills
BSc degree in Journalism, Marketing, Communications, Business Administration, English, Public Relations, International Relations, Information Technology, Law, Psychology, or any other related field.
